Raise A Glass & Cash – DANA-FARBER MARATHON CHALLENGE

Featured Organization: Joel and Beth Connolly, A.K.A., “Team Connolly,” will be ran their first in-person Boston Marathon together on October 11, 2021. Team Connolly ran as part of the official charity program through the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

As of 2021, Beth had participated in 6 Boston Marathons while Joel’s first was participating on the team for 2020’s virtual Boston. Through their efforts, Team Connolly has raised over $100,000 for cancer research through the Claudia Barr Program at Dana-Farber. They have been part of the Partner and In-Memory programs honoring some of the Jimmy Fund’s most inspiring heroes. Your support fuels their training mileage and gives them heart when their legs get tired.

Featured Beer: El Mozacca was a sessionable, hazy pale ale (4.8% ABV) brewed with El Dorado, Mosaic, and Azacca hops.

Donation: $300

Event: We hosted Beth and Joel in the Tasting Room on September 23rd for the Beer Release, Fundraiser, and Outsmart Cancer Trivia. 100% of the ticket sales were also donated to the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge.

Raise a Glass & Cash – Weideman Family Fund

Featured Benefactor: On September 11, 2020, a dear friend of Great North experienced an unimaginable setback. After suffering a life-altering stroke at just 43-years old, Dave Weideman was stripped of basic motor skills and the joys of everyday life.

For Dave, that included craft beer most of all. To read about Dave’s journey and his inspiring road to recovery, click here.

Featured Beer: We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Tank

Donation: $2,208 (this included ticket sales for the Beach Party)

We brewed “We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Tank” as a tribute to one of our favorite customers! An American lager – an ode to great, summer classics and friends. To kick everything off, we hosted a Beach Party, Beer Release and Fundraiser on July 23rd, 2021. 100% of proceeds for ticket sales, plus a portion of Bigger Tank beer sales over the following few months were donated to the Weideman Family Fund.

Reopening & Delivery Updates

Starting the week of June 15th our Tasting Room and Patio are opening! We have also made changes to our delivery schedule.

Tasting Room & Patio Hours:

  • 3:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday/Friday
  • 1:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday
  • 1:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday

Note: We will no longer be open on Wednesdays.

Please provide your name, phone number, party size, and if you have a preference for patio or inside seating. Reservations will be made for 90 minutes, please let us know in advance if you require a longer or shorter time. We will accommodate customers without reservations if there are tables available.

Customers who are looking to do pick-up and to-go purchases only can stop by anytime during open hours. Online ordering is still available if you would like to preorder.

The Rules:

  • All customers (including those stopping by for to-go purchases) are required to wear a mask or face covering when entering and exiting the Tasting Room or Patio and when getting up to visit the restroom (basically anytime you are not seated at your table).
  • If you are experiencing any of these symptoms: fever, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, change in sense of taste or smell, flu-like symptoms such as muscle aches, chills, or severe fatigue – please stay home.
  • Dogs on a leash are welcome on the patio.
  • Maximum table size is 6 customers in a group (we have a limited number of tables that can seat 6).
  • Our staff will come to you, please do not come to the bar to order (of course unless you are seated at the bar).
  • For the time being, we have packed away all of the games on our game shelf. You are welcome to bring a game with you.
  • We have expanded our patio area into some of the parking spaces. There should still be plenty of parking in our overflow lot, and in front of the brewery. Please do not park in front of the bingo hall.
  • Have fun!

Please bear with us and be patient as we all navigate this new way of operating our business. There will likely be hiccups along the way. We will make necessary adjustments and updates as we learn.

Great North…To Go!

NOTE: Listing of available beers at the bottom of this post has been updated as of 3/19 6:05 PM.

With the Governor’s order that all NH restaurants and bars close, our Tasting Room will be open for to-go service only until the order is lifted.

The hours for this coming week are below. We will re-evaluate as we go and determine what our hours will be after that.

 – WED, 3/18 4-7 PM
 – THU, 3/19 4-7 PM
 – FRI, 3/20 4-7 PM
 – SAT, 3/21 1-4 PM
 – SUN, 3/22 1-4 PM

Beer available to go will be cans, growler fills, and kegs. Please feel free to call ahead (603) 858-5789 and we will get your order ready (beer list and pricing are at the bottom of this post). Calling ahead especially for growler fills or kegs, will definitely speed up the process and eliminate wait time. If you call and get our voicemail, please leave a clear message with your name, phone number, order, and expected pick-up time. We’ll do our best to be ready for you.

During this time, we will not be filling non-branded growlers (for example stainless steel, ceramic, GrowlerWerks, etc.). If customers come in with one of these for a fill, we will offer you a new Great North glass growler at no charge. All customer owned Great North Aleworks branded growlers will be swapped for a new one.

Since normal Tasting Room events are not possible at this time, we will be doing a ‘to-go’ version of our Raise a Glass & Cash fundraiser. During the weeks that we are operating in a to-go manner, we will donate $1 for every 4-pack, 6-pack, and growler fill to our friends and neighbors at the New Hampshire Food Bank.

We will be regularly sanitizing high traffic areas (front door handles, cooler handle, retail counter, and point of sale touch screen).

As always, we appreciate the support of all of our customers, your support of other breweries, bars, restaurants, and retail stores.

Here is a current list of what we have available in cans, growler fills, and kegs:
